Life keeps on twisting and turning and it amazes me just how far we can travel internally yet still appear the same externally. I spent sometime reflecting on my personal growth and journey over the last 12 months and acknowledged just how much I had accomplished and learnt in such a small amount of time.
I am so grateful for all the amazing students, staff members, family, friends and teachers that have made my life possible. To ever think that we get anywhere in life alone couldn’t be further from the truth!
I’m so excited about my future plans and the possibilities ahead. I love having a dream to work towards. I invite you to create yourself a vision board of all the things you want to have or do in the next 12 months and come back and revisit this dream 1 year in the future and tick off all the things you managed to achieve. I love this exercise as I get really excited about so many ideas that I can hardly contain myself!

I am totally addicted to reading at the moment and I’m loving it
I have recently been wanting to organise my finances so I decided to pick up Antonia Magees book Living Thin; One womans journey from penniless to prosperous in a year. What I loved about this book is that its written by an Australian girl from Melbourne around the same age as me which made it really easy to connect.
It’s not a how to book, but a book about Maggie’s personal journey to take control of her finances and find love. It colorfully illustrates all of her trials and tribulations of a year of tightening her belt, harnessing her uncontrollable spending habits and how she reached her goal of being debt free with $10,000 of savings in the bank.
I’m about to expand my business premises by almost 50% and do a major renovation that will see me out-of-pocket over $25,000. Not only will the renovation cost set me back but also the rent increase will almost double. So I need to have a plan to make sure that I can clear my debt and manage my new monthly expenses.
Since reading the book I feel great as I have cleared and closed two credit cards, booked meetings with a financial planner, a book-keeper and a commercial software designer to organise both my business and personal financial accounts. I have set myself a personal goal to clear my renovation debt, credit card debt, HECS debt from university and have $10,000 worth of savings in the bank by christmas which will be a first as I have always put my money straight back into the business or to further my education.

I always feel confident in a prospective book purchase if it has become a New York Times Best Seller and this delightful compilation is no exception. Made up of 101 Stories to Open the Hearts and Rekindle the Spirits of Women it will make you cry over and over. I have to congratulate the authors Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Jennifer Read Hawthorne and Marci Shimoff for having the vision to create such a heart-felt piece of work.
Chicken Soup for the Soul like some other books I have read recently didn’t appeal to me simply because of its title and now that I have read it, it is up there with my favorite books of all time! It touched every cell of my emotional body and has made me want to become a better person!
This shining collection brings you inspiration and comfort in special chapters on marriage, motherhood, aging, bridging the generations, attitude, self-esteem and higher wisdom. It is a must read book for all women young or old, married or single!

I remember the first time I went to a vegan restaurant and the menu was categorised into different meat sections ranging from; Beef, Fish, Chicken and Pork! At first I was like “Oh my god there is nothing to eat!” But with some gentle encouragement from my friend Sean he ordered all of his favorite dishes so I could try them.
At first I wasn’t sure if I liked it or even if its ok to like the idea of eating meat? It’s really hard to get your head around eating fake meat when you are so dead against it in the first place. My guru said once “You shouldn’t wear fake leather or fur as it’s still promoting the leather and fur industry” Does this mean you shouldn’t eat fake meat?
To be honest I still wear fake leather and fur as I love fashion and I now eat fake meat as it’s important to get enough nutrients in your diet especially when you have a vigorous lifestyle.
There is only one vegan restaurant on the Gold Coast and its conveniently only 200 meters from my doorstep
Check it out its Tian Ran on the Gold Coast Highway Mermaid Beach, across the road from the Growers Market Fruit shop.

Seven days of nothing other than soup, juice, herbal teas and Monavie and I feel fabulous
I lost 1.5 kilograms and Im feeling light and bright! To be honest it really wasn’t hard as I didn’t limit myself with how much I could consume. I especially enjoyed a lot of pumpkin soup and super smoothies! There is something empowering that happens when you set and achieve a small goal. It strengthens your focus, cultivates deeper discipline and boosts your confidence.
I want to also congradulate my friends who joined me on the fast; Libby, Maddy, Randy and Taryn you are awesome xxx

Come and join us for 108 Sunsalutations to welcome Winter in 2010 Saturday 29th May at 5.30pm. Every new season we partake in the spiritual journey of 108 Sunsalutations and have done for over 5 years. The number 108 has been considered sacred for thousands of years in India. The Hindu prayer necklaces contain 108 beads, each one representing an individual mantra or prayer. Chinese Buddhists and Taoists also use a 108 bead mala.
In yoga, it is believed that our heart center is where the soul resides. From the heart center 108 channels, called Nadis, radiate out to all parts of the subtle body. By chanting a mantra 108 times, the energy of the mantra enters each of those channels so that it reaches all parts of the body. Coming together as a group to welcome each new season and cycling through 108 sun salutations provides the opportunity for a challenging physical workout as well as a focused, meditative experience.
